⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I trained chef from Switzerland. I love good food. So I thought I was emotionally prepared for a piece of beef. Then the Kobe beef arrived at Kisshokichi Kyoto Main Store. Apparently, I was not. One bite and my mind went quiet. That usually only happens under general anaesthesia. You sit there, chewing reverently, wondering whether you owe every steak you’ve ever eaten an apology. Or whether they owe you one. And yes: genuine Kobe beef. Absolutely phenomenal. So good that even my usually unstoppable mouth briefly shut down. My wife would probably award five stars for that alone. Then there’s the crew: incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming, every single one of them. The whole team makes you feel at home so you can simply relax and enjoy the evening. To everyone working here: you’re a huge part of what made this visit so fantastic! Of course, an experience like this comes at a price. When the bill arrives, your wallet clears its throat and asks whether you’re still on the same team. But if you love great food and want to treat yourself to something truly special, this is THE place to be in Kyoto. I cannot recommend this restaurant and its entire crew highly enough. We were absolutely blown away. Five stars. The system won’t let me give more. Clearly, the system hasn’t eaten here.
