On Christmas Eve in Kyoto, we discovered a teppanyaki restaurant that offered far more than a meal, it was a truly memorable experience, blending warmth, elegance, and culinary artistry; in a cosy atmosphere, guided by the chef’s thoughtful explanations, we tasted several cuts of Kobe beef and were delighted to find that even the more affordable options were tender and full of flavor, proving that excellence can be found in simplicity; the sizzling sounds and aromas rising from the hot plate created a sense of magic, while a perfectly chosen glass of cabernet sauvignon red wine elevated each bite and added a touch of familiarity for us as a French couple in Japan. Together, these elements, the ambience, the precision of the chef, the harmony of flavors, and the festive spirit of Merīkurisumasu combined to create an unforgettable evening that will remain forever cherished in our memories.
