This was my second Teppanyaki meal during my trip to Osaka and Kyoto. I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience, which made me eager to try another restaurant in Kyoto. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete disappointment.
For a start the cooking area was not clean, there were traces left from the night before.
For the price we paid, I expected a higher standard. Unlike my first Teppanyaki meal—where the chef cooked the beef in stages so we could enjoy each portion hot and freshly prepared—this chef rushed through everything. By the time we finished eating, the beef had already gone cold, making even the premium Kobe beef feel ordinary.
The lobster was another let down; it had a fishy taste and smell, suggesting it wasn’t handled properly. But the biggest disappointment was the garlic fried rice—it was soggy, overly salty, and nowhere near the quality one would expect in Japan.
Overall, this meal fell far short of expectations for a restaurant in this price range. A very underwhelming experience.
