Loved this place so much! We chose this after much research on Kobe restaurants in Kyoto. Intimate space with maybe 12 seats, but we didn't have a reservation. We showed up a bit on the early end, maybe 6PM, and the three of us, including a 7 year old, were the first ones there. They have signs for their offerings out front next to a different restaurant on the corner, but don't be confused. You have to walk down the little walkway/hallway to the left to find this place. It is not the restaurant that is open to the sidewalk on the corner. The service was top notch and very friendly/helpful! They have a really nice range of steak selection/prices so we didn't have to get the best steak for our child. They were all fantastic! Kobe sirloin was my favorite for that extra bit of marbling, and my wife also loved her Kobe filet the best. My child said her favorite was hers, which was the lower-priced marbled beef. Hers was still really good, but I could tell the difference even if she couldn't, so if you're able definitely go for the sirloin or filet. I've had A5 Wagyu from Japan that I cooked at home and the sirloin especially had that similar rich flavor. We all did the middle size (I think roughly 170g) along with the extra set that included extra Kobe dishes (also delicious!) and that was perfect for somebody who will normally finish a ~12oz steak with sides at a US steakhouse. Even my daughter ate hers all up!
